Returns & Refunds Policy

At Indian Art & Craft Ventures, we carefully source and curate art, handicrafts, and handmade products from artisans and artists across India. Because many of our products are handmade, each piece may have its own unique characteristics, including natural variations in colour, texture, pattern, finish, and dimensions.

We want you to receive your order in excellent condition. If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, please contact us promptly so that we can assist you.

1. Eligibility for Returns

Customers may request a return within 14 days of delivery in the following circumstances:

• The item arrived damaged.
• The item is defective due to a manufacturing or workmanship issue.
• The wrong item was delivered.
• The item received is materially different from the product ordered.

Returns are not generally accepted for change of mind, personal preference, or minor variations that are characteristic of handmade or naturally sourced products.

For a return to be eligible, the item must:

• Be unused and in its original condition.
• Be returned in its original packaging, wherever applicable.
• Include original tags, labels, certificates, or accompanying documentation, where applicable.
• Not show signs of wear, alteration, washing, repair, or damage caused after delivery.
• Be securely packaged for return shipment.

For jewellery, decorative objects, artwork, and other delicate products, the item must be returned without damage or modification.

2. Natural Variations

Many of the products we offer are handmade, handcrafted, naturally sourced, or individually created.

Variations in colour, texture, grain, pattern, shape, size, finish, or appearance may naturally occur and are not necessarily considered defects.

Where products incorporate natural materials, such as wood, stone, natural fibres, or other organic materials, natural marks, inclusions, variations, and irregularities may be part of the character of the product.

Such natural characteristics will generally not qualify an item for return.

3. Return Process

To request a return, please contact us within 14 days of delivery through our designated email address or contact form.

Please provide:

• Order number
• Customer name and contact details
• Product name
• Reason for the return
• Clear photographs of the product
• Photographs of the packaging, particularly if the item arrived damaged

We may request additional photographs or information to assess the issue.

Once the return request is reviewed and approved, we will provide the applicable return instructions and, where applicable, a return shipping label.

4. Return Shipping

For approved returns arising from an error on our part, such as receiving an incorrect item or an item that arrived damaged or defective, we will bear the applicable return shipping cost.

For other approved returns where return shipping is permitted, the customer may be responsible for the return shipping cost.

Customers should not send products back without receiving return instructions from us.

We recommend using a trackable and appropriately insured shipping service when returning valuable or fragile items.

5. Inspection and Approval

Once the returned product is received, our team will inspect it to verify the reported issue and confirm that it meets the return conditions.

We aim to complete the inspection and communicate the outcome within 3–5 business days of receiving the returned item.

If the return is approved, the applicable refund, replacement, or other resolution will be processed according to the circumstances of the order.

6. Refunds

Where a refund is approved, the refund will generally be issued to the original payment method, subject to applicable payment-provider processing timelines.

The time taken for the refunded amount to appear in your account may vary depending on your bank, card issuer, payment gateway, or other payment service provider.

Shipping charges may be non-refundable unless the return is due to an error, damage, or defect attributable to us.

7. Damaged Deliveries

If your package appears damaged when delivered, please photograph the outer packaging, shipping label, and product before opening or immediately after discovering the damage.

Please contact us as soon as possible and preferably within 48 hours of delivery so that we can coordinate with the relevant shipping or logistics provider.

Failure to report transit damage promptly may affect our ability to raise a claim with the carrier, although this does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law.

8. Non-Returnable Items

Unless required otherwise under applicable law, certain products may not be eligible for return, including:

• Customized or personalized products
• Made-to-order products
• Products specifically commissioned or sourced for a customer
• Items damaged after delivery due to misuse or improper handling
• Products showing signs of use or alteration
• Products returned without their original components, tags, certificates, or packaging where applicable

Any product-specific return restrictions will be communicated on the relevant product page or before purchase where applicable.

9. Exchanges and Replacements

Where appropriate and subject to availability, we may offer a replacement instead of a refund for products that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect.

If an identical replacement is unavailable, we may offer an alternative resolution, including a refund, at our discretion and subject to applicable law.

10. International Returns

For international orders, customers should contact us before returning any product.

Return shipping, customs procedures, duties, taxes, and other charges may vary depending on the destination country and circumstances of the return.

We will provide specific instructions for approved international returns.
